1. Holy Grail of Human Evolution
Now on displayed at the American Museum of Natural History in New York is what scientists are calling the “missing link.” More specifically, a 47 million year old fossilized primate technically called Darwinius Masillae, appears to be the link that shows how primates advanced to standing up right. Scientists, who named the fossilized primate Ida, indicated that primate also displayed “opposable thumbs” and although a cat like in form, had fingernails, instead of claws. Dubbed as the “eighth wonder of the world,” scientists actually uncovered the remains in 1983 and after studied in secret for several years and believe that this 47 million year old fossil could prove Darwin’s theory that man evolved from apes.

2. Amy Mickelson, Wife of Phil Mickelson Diagnosed with Breast Cancer
Phil Mickelson, ranked second in the world, cut his tour on the PGA golfing circuit short as a result of learning that his wife, Amy Mickelson, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Amy Mickelson will be treated beginning with a major surgery in the next few weeks. Breast cancer is a leading cause of death in women and statistically, one in seven women will be diagnosed with the disease.

3. New York Based FTC Capital Markets Inc. Accused of Fraud
FTC Capital Markets, Inc., a New York based investment firm, is in the midst of a full fraud investigation. U.S. investigators initiated a search of FTC Capital Markets, Inc. on Tuesday night, following allegations of fraud placed against two FTC Capital Markets, Inc. executives. Although criminal charges have not been filed, one FTC executive, Lina Lopez, was arrested in Miami. The investigation stems from civil litigation against FTC Capital Markets, Inc. accusing two top executives, Lopez and Guillermo David Clamens, of investment fraud purportedly involving millions of dollars. Guillermo David Clamens is President and CEO based in the FTC Capital Markets, Inc.’s New York office and Lina Lopez is an employee based out of Miami, FL.

4. Kijafa Frink, Michael Vick’s Fiance, Picks Him Up From Federal Pen
Micheal Vick was picked up by his fiancé, Kijafa Frink after leaving the federal penitentiary located in Leavenworth, KS. Formerly the highest paid football player in the NFL, Michael Vick was the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons before being indicted on federal charges for illegal dog fighting. Michael Vick will be under house arrest for two months and on probation thereafter for three years. In the meantime, Vick is expected to request reinstatement into the NFL and since he will not return to the Falcons, he will have to be picked up by another team if the NFL approves his reinstatement request. There are mixed feelings; some saying Michael Vick has paid his debt to society and should be allowed to play pro-football and others who believe he should not be allowed the privileged because of his transgression.

5. Professional Athlete Steve Larson Dies from Heart Attack at Age 39
Steve Larson, professional athlete, husband, and father of five, passed away from an apparent heart attack while running yesterday evening. Known for competing with the likes of Lance Armstrong, Steve Larson is also considered to be one of few, if not the only one, who has competed and won in three professional events as a mountain bike racer, over the road biker, and triathlete. Larson, originally from Davis, CA, retired from professional sports in 2003 and resided in Bend, OR at the time of his passing.
